9 Tips to Get Repeat Web Traffic

Here is some advice on the 9 tips that will help you improve repeat visitors to your site. Try them all out and track how well they improve revisits.

1. Update your website as often as possible. Stagnant sites tend to be dropped by certain search engines. To keep track of when the site was updated, you could put a date counter on the page.

2. Offer additional value to your website. For affiliates and partners, you can do link exchanges, offering your visitors access to their sites and vice versa. You can also advertise their books or videos, if these products relate to your business without competing with it.

3. You can allow customers to opt in for discounts and special offers; in other words, place a link on your site that will invite customers to opt in for a monthly newsletter or valuable coupons.

4. Add a link to your primary page with a script that reads something to the effect, Book mark or add this site to your favorites.

5. Add a link reading something to the effect, Recommend this site to a friend so that the visitor can e-mail your website link, with a prewritten title, Thought you might be interested in this, just by clicking on it.

6. Brand your website so that its easily identifiable to visitors. Use consistent colors, logos and slogans, and provide a Contact Us link on each page.

7. Create an Our Policies page that clearly defines your mission as well as your philosophy and principles in providing service to your customers. Also post your privacy policy here, so that clients know they are safe and secure when they patronize your site.

8. Create a FAQ page, which will address many of the doubts and clarifications people may have about your product or company. This feature helps to resolve initial doubts and concerns customers may have when they first visit your site.

8. Ensure that each page on your website comes complete with appropriate titles and keywords, so that your customers can find their way back to your site if they lose the site book mark.

9. Never spam a client who has opted in for newsletters with unsolicited emails. Later if they decide they want to opt out of the mailings, honor their requests and take them off your mailing list as soon as possible. They may someday return if they like your products. But they will certainly not come back if you continue to flood their email box with messages they no longer wish to receive.
