A Timeless Classic: Swiss Watches
By: David T.

It seems that every watch that is of good quality has been made by the Swiss. And, despite the present trend of globalization of everything, there has still not been any dilution in the excellent reputation that Swiss watches enjoy.

Essentially, when you think about Swiss watches, you think about a concept that embodies quality that in turn has taken many long years to perfect. Thus, you can expect Swiss watches to provide great accuracy and wonderful reliability. They are also durable and generally waterproof and shockproof.

You can’t help but be impressed by the aesthetics of the Swiss watches. They are all original and elegant in design, and they embody the best of the traditional form of manufacturing that has been married with the latest advances in modern technology.

However, there is also a lot of stiff competition that the Swiss watches have to face from other manufacturing nations, although they are still able to enjoy considerable advantage. This is thanks to their excellent infrastructure, unsurpassed knowledge and know-how, and their constant state of innovation that have all helped them remain at the pinnacle of watch making.

There are several world renowned Swiss watches. Quality watch makers such as Rolex, Omega, Tag Heuer and a few others have not been able to push the other ordinary Swiss watches into the background. The reason behind this is that the luxury Swiss watchmakers have worked in tandem with the ordinary Swiss watchmakers and helped, rather than competed with, them.

Typically, Swiss watches incorporate movement that is “Swiss.” This Swiss movement is encased in Switzerland, and the final inspection is made by the manufacturer in this country. Thus, Swiss movement means that the watch was assembled in the Swiss factory, was inspected by the manufacturer there, and that the watch contains at least fifty percent of its manufactured components from Switzerland.

Although, you can get relatively inexpensive and high quality Swiss watches, it must be said that big names such as Rolex and Omega have their own special appeal in the minds of buyers. These watches are generally unaffordable to the average buyers. Yet, there are always replicas of the originals available that can prove to be an effective alternative to those who want to own a “Rolex” or “Omega” watch without having to pay a mini-fortune for them.

Another type of Swiss watch that is worth a mention is the Swiss Army Watch, which actually has nothing to do with the famous Swiss Army Knives. These watches are available in numerous models and each model can suit different needs. There is sure to be a Swiss Army Watch that will be appropriate for every kind of person. These watches all have three year warranties and because they are affordable and of very good quality, they are well worth considering.

The bottom line is that with Swiss watches you are assured that you will be able to always be on time. Because these watches are very beautiful in their construction, you get quality, looks and great functionality with each Swiss made watch.
