China And Its History Of Dynasties
By: Derek Dashwood

If you are browsing in a Chinese antiques shop and the owner shows you an object for any dynasty, you would probably need help to be assured which century that was. And so it has been in China for the thrity thousand years that human beings have populated this portion of earth. We know that humanity came out of Africa and worked its ways by the ocean shore at first and then through mountain passes to find and lay claim to an area for themselves.

It is a strange anomaly that humans came out of Africa but hundreds of thousands of years after our direct ancestors had roamed the plans of Africa. As for China, that group of families huddled during ice ages in the south of China, and only ventured north, up into Manchuria, then Siberia, then Alaska. It was these nomads and their kin who made it over to Japan to migrate north. It was them that walked over the land bridge and with their later family walked their way all over the Americas.

And science now tells us that earth was peopled by small clans of families-small dynasties- who conquered earth. We notice that the Chinese adaptation of dynastic rule was while it often became cruel in its governing, there was agree between the people to be governed that the new ruler must be capable enough to ensure peace and prosperity. Thus it happened often enough that a bolder yet more able leader into a palace revolt, and begun a new dynasty with himself as ruler and his family and cohorts the new crowned leaders, each given a specific task.

Often these tasks invovled spy work for the new emperor, who needed friendly eyes and ears everywhere in court and beyond. Betrayal could be around every corridor. The first emperor named himself Qin, which is pronounced chin. Emperor Qin had enslaved workers bodies poured into the construction of the Great Wall Of China. Many grieving widows were send away when they tried to collects their husbands bones for proper burial at home.

Emperor Qin was the terror of the land; Chin reigned only a short time, 221 to 207 BCE. Since the first emperor to now, that have been benevolent; we smile when we think of the pleasing arts from the Ming dynasty. Any worthy Chinese antiques shop dealer could show you examples of works from the more than forty dynasties during China's long history.
