Error Converting an Access Database Containing a Large Number of Forms
By: Joshaf Smith

Microsoft Office Access is a relational database management system that is available in several different file versions. Each file version is different from others in functionality and features. A new file version always comes with added features and improved usability.
To get benefit of these functions and features, use switch to the later file version. At this point of time, data is the most important thing that you should keep in mind. Sometimes, when you upgrade from earlier file version of Access to later one, while converting the database format you may face the following error:
“The Visual Basic for Applications project in the database is corrupt.”
And if the database has converted successfully, you won’t be able to view any module in the database project.
Cause
There may be several hundred forms in a database that may contain modules. These forms may have a Visual Basic Application or VBA for each or few modules. If the VBA of any module is corrupted then this problem occurs. After the error message, the database will be closed unexpectedly.
Resolution
Open the original Access database and delete unnecessary forms from it. Also, you need to move some forms to another MS Access database of later version before you convert the database. Carry on moving or deleting forms out of the database until you no longer get the error.
It will definitely solve the problem. But deleting the database forms is not the right solution. Also, if the database is already corrupted, then this method is not longer helpful.
In such circumstances, you need to repair the corrupted database and restore it in the original state. You can do it using specially designed third party applications known as Access Recovery software. Access Recovery software can repair and restore the corrupted database without modifying the original contents.
These MDB recovery software are very easy to use and can handle all of the Access database corruption problems. You can use these software by yourself either you have any prior technical knowledge of using these software or not. The Access Recovery software can vary from file version to file version.
