Fat Loss And The Scale
By: Jerry Leung

Most people will just focus on the weight they can lose when they are trying to lose weight. In fact, this concept is not really correct. You should try to focus on the fat you lose if you would like to make yourself healthier. You do not need to care some much about the reading from the scale. Instead, you should focus more on the ratio between the fat and lean body mass of your body.

One thing you should understand is that the weight only does not give you an accurate indicator about your problem. This is because your body weight consists of different parts. In most cases you will try to divide it into two main parts - the fat and the lean body mass.

You should probably know the weight of the within your body. It is quite self-explained. However, you may not really understand what lean body mass is. It is the weight of your body other than fat. And muscles should contribute to large part of your lean body mass.

As you may probably know, if you have more muscles, you will be able to burn fat more efficiently. This is because you can have more metabolisms if you have more muscles. The metabolic weight will be boosted if you can build more muscles.

From here you will know that you should try to lose fat and build muscles if you would like to make yourself healthier.

However, most people just do not really understand this. Instead they will just focus on the readings from the scale. Remember, the weight itself is not so important. The important thing is the loss of fat within your body.

For example, you may only lose 10 pounds in three months. Some people will say that you are not really successful in your weight loss plan since you can only lose 10 pounds. However, you should not just concentrate on the number pounds you lose.

It can be something good if you lose 20 pounds of fat and gain 10 pounds of muscles. You may think that it will be a lot better if you can lose 20 pounds in total. However, if you only lose 20 pounds of fat without gaining some muscles, you will not be able to boost your metabolism.

On the contrary, if you can gain some muscles, you will be able to burn more calories. And this will certainly be better than just losing 20 pounds of fat.
