Despite being a city, it’s not actually that big compared to say, Cambridge and as a result there are not a lot of hotels in Ely.
The main two are the Lamb Hotel and the Nyton Hotel, both within easy reach of the town centre and the awe inspiring Ely Cathedral.
The lack of major hotels in Ely is made up for by the amount of B&B’s and guest houses however. Some would argue that staying in the family run atmosphere of one of these establishments is a better way to enjoy this city as you will benefit from some of the personal history of the owners, most of whom have lived there all of their lives.
If you can, you should try and find some accommodation within close proximity to the river that runs through Ely. On a Summers evening there is nothing more enjoyable than sitting by the river enjoying a cold drink and watching the many pleasure craft sail by.
