Why Breathing is Important for Life
By: Peter hutch

Proper breathing is one of the most important things you can do for maintaining your health. There is a right way and a wrong way to breathe. Children breathe deeply, from their diaphragm. As we age, however, our breathing shifts to the chest and becomes shallower and more rapid. Deep breathing is best.

The human body moves via the electrochemical production of energies that fuel the muscles and organs of the body. All chemical reactions in the body require energy to occur. This energy is in the form of electrical impulses generated by the body as mentioned. This electrical energy is the stimulus that causes chemical reactions in all the cells, functions and processes that occur in nature and especially the human body. This is why having an abundany supply of energy or chi is so vital to health, regeneration and longevity. In Chemistry, it’s the electrons that jump from one atom to another creating different chemical compounds and reaction. This is where we get the world “elec-tricity” from, the movement of electrons in atoms.

Breathing is the process by which a balance between oxygen and carbon dioxide is maintained. If this balance is disturbed by a lack of oxygen or by a lack of carbon dioxide, through hyperventilation, physical symptoms can result.

There a nice side-effect to practicing these breathing patterns. Along side your circulatory system and your respitory system, you have another system in your body. That is the Lymphatic system. Lymph fluid is responsible for getting impurities out of your body and keeps you healthy. There's one catch; it can only be activated through bodily movement and deep breathing! So, do your exercises and improve your health dramatically at the same time.

Air is filtered by the turbinates and tiny hair-like structures that work to prevent pollen, dust and bacteria from entering the lungs. The sticky mucus blanket within the nose traps a significant proportion of all the bacteria and allergens contained in air. On any one day, a person with asthma may inhale from 10,000 to 20,000 litres of air laden with foreign particles including many triggers.

Draw the blinds and turn on a fan or a soothing CD of nature noises to block out distracting sounds. Swapping ordinary bedroom bulbs for yellow ones (GE makes a 25-watt version sold at drugstores) can help you feel more tranquil as you're getting ready to nod off. Consider treating yourself to a cozy new comforter or putting flowers on your nightstand so that being in your bedroom—and sleeping!—becomes something you look forward to.

It is a fact that 'When we talk we don't breath'. If we just observe ourselves we will know that, when we are talking, we are not breathing, and in between talking we pause to take a breath and continue talking. This pausing and taking a breath happens automatically without our knowledge. Imagine when we talk too much (talking is just taken as an example it could mean anything which is good enough to cause our breathing pattern abnormal) then our breathing pattern will be shallow and abnormal.

Be aware of your breathing patterns during your matches. Realize when you are in a Green Light situation and occasionally take your proper breaths, and then when you need to be cautious in the Yellow Light situations try your flush breaths and turn it back to your Green Light situation. Occasionally get your anger out quickly and then go and win the next point.
